Purpose

A Service Type defines the relationship between an order fulfillment method (Delivery, Pickup, Table Ordering, or Kiosk) and the available payment methods.

It is a global configuration, not a restaurant-specific setting. Service Types determine which payment options are available for each fulfillment method throughout the platform.

Service Type Fields

Field	Description
ID	Automatically generated
Service Name	Display name used throughout the platform
Admin Name	Internal name shown in the Admin Panel
Active	Yes / No
Default	Only one Service Type can be set as the default. It will be preselected during checkout.
Fulfillment Method	Delivery, Pickup, Table Ordering, or Kiosk
Payment Methods	Multi-select list of available payment methods

Where Service Types Are Used

A Service Type can be assigned to:

• Restaurants — via the Available Service Types field.
• Menu Categories — via the Available Service Types field.
• Promo Codes — via the Service Type field (with a Select All option).

This allows you to:

• Enable Delivery only for a restaurant.
• Make selected menu categories available only through kiosks.
• Restrict a promo code to online delivery orders.

Scenario: Create a Catering Service Type

1. Go to Settings → Service Types.
2. Click Create.
3. Configure the following:
   • Service Name: Catering
   • Active: Yes
   • Default: No
   • Fulfillment Method: Delivery
   • Payment Methods: WayForPay (prepayment only)
4. Save the Service Type.
5. Open the restaurant that provides catering services and add the new Service Type to the Available Service Typesfield.

Scenario: Enable StripeSplit for Pickup Only

1. Create the StripeSplit payment gateway and payment method (see Payment Systems).
2. Navigate to Settings → Service Types.
3. Open the Pickup Service Type.
4. Edit the Payment Methods field and add StripeSplit.
5. Save your changes.

Result

Customers will see StripeSplit as a payment option only when placing Pickup orders. It will not be available for Delivery orders.
