Photo by Adi Goldstein on UnsplashThe average cost of an espresso cup in Ukraine reached 41 UAH (~€0.82) in December 2025. Data from Opendatabot and Poster analytics indicates a 17% year-over-year increase. Prices have nearly doubled since the start of the full-scale invasion.
Lviv recorded the highest average price at 47 UAH (~€0.94). Odesa follows at 45 UAH, with Dnipro at 43 UAH. Khmelnytskyi remains the most affordable major city at 33 UAH (~€0.66) per cup. The frontline Sumy region saw the sharpest annual spike of 26%, shifting from one of the cheapest regions to the national average.
Why it matters: Rising ingredient costs directly impact gross margins for coffee shops. To avoid alienating customers with excessive price hikes, operators must reduce operational overhead. This economic pressure accelerates the adoption of QR menus and owned ordering channels to eliminate aggregator commissions and optimize labor costs.
