Papa Johns Launches Google Gemini AI for All Orders
Hey Google, order me a pepperoni

It becomes the first restaurant brand to unify ordering via a single generative AI agent across all customer touchpoints. The deployment covers mobile apps, websites, phone lines, self-service kiosks, and connected vehicle systems.
The system replaces legacy IVR (interactive voice response) and manual entry with a conversational agent capable of complex interactions. Key capabilities include active allergy recognition, dynamic modification of ingredients, and the management of large group orders via voice or text. The “context-aware” AI ensures zero data loss when a customer switches channels. For example, an order started via voice in a car can be completed on a kiosk. Google Cloud data indicates this integration significantly reduces order abandonment rates compared to traditional digital interfaces.
Why it matters: This rollout signals the obsolescence of manual order-taking and fragmented digital channels. Major chains are leveraging AI to own the customer relationship and data completely. For independent operators, this reinforces the urgent need for white-label ecosystems like Eatery Club. Utilizing owned apps and AI agents is the only scalable way to match this level of convenience and margin protection.
